Bob Sanders Will Sign With San Diego Chargers, According To Report
The deadline for NFL teams to sign players to contract comes at midnight when the current Collective Bargaining Agreement expires.
The San Diego Chargers made it in just the nick of time. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, S Bob Sanders will be signing with the Chargers on Thursday night. The deal has to be signed Thursday night in order for it to become official. Though the negotiations between the NFL owners and players has been extended for 24 hours, the ability to sign players has not been.

Free agent safety Bob Sanders has less than two days to sign with a team with the league’s Collective Bargaining Agreement with the players expiring on Thursday night. He’s visited two teams to this point -- Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars -- and will visit a third on Wednesday.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Sanders will visit the New York Jets. The idea of Sanders in New York doesn’t seem too far-fetched since the Jets have shown a penchant for veterans (especially those with big names....LaDainian Tomlinson).

The Bob Sanders free agency tour will start with the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora. Sanders was released from the Indianapolis Colts last week -- the only team he’s known since they made him a second round pick in the 2004 NFL draft.
The Jaguars currently have a pair of young safeties starting and could use some help in that area. If he’s healthy, Sanders would be an incredible steal as a free agent. Of course the problem is that he hasn’t truly been healthy since 2007 when he was the AP defensive player of the year.
