When you hear news like the guy who is suing the National Football League and its teams over the player lockout because they violated his contract to buy tickets through his personal seat license, you can’t help but wonder what the ulterior motive is, right?
Millionaire Sues NFL Millionaires For Being Selfish Millionaires
We’re all pretty bummed out about the lockout, but to go to the length of suing the league and making a public spectacle out of it, you’ve got to looking for just a little attention, no?
Enter Ken Lanci.
“It’s a fight between billionaires and millionaires,” Lanci said Friday in a phone interview. “There isn’t any sympathy for multi-millionaires. It’s just not going to happen. And somebody has to stand up and say, ‘Enough’s enough.’”
Did I mention Lanci himself is a millionaire? If we’re in the business of electing people to stand up and say ‘Enough’s enough,’ it should probably be someone a little more reflective of the average football fan.
Speaking of electing, Lanci is also a politician. Or at least attempted to be in the 2010 election.
Obviously, the lawsuit has no merit. I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume the Browns are going to refund that PSL if the season doesn't happen. If Lanci really wants to make a statement against the NFL, he should start a campaign to make other wealthy individuals like himself stop spending money on the league. Frivolous lawsuits make for cute headlines, but the threat of lost revenue is what's really going to scare those billionaires and millionaires.
