As reported earlier Monday, Aqib Talib has become a “person of interest” at the center of a police investigation into a shooting in Dallas on March 21st. There have been no charges so far, and to be clear, everything’s hearsay until this goes to trial (if that happens at all).
Aqib Talib (And His Mom) Don’t Play Games On These Streets (Allegedly)
But with some stories, it’s good to just stand back and appreciate the big picture. Let the insanity wash over you. So, with that in mind, let’s all take a closer look at the initial Talib report this morning. It’s like a scene from The Wire wrapped in a Jerry Springer episode.
All of this comes from the Dallas Observer’s news story. And it has... Pistol whipping:
Billings said Aqib produced a handgun and “attempted to strike him in the face.”
...Moms shooting guns:
[...] Talib dropped the gun and Billings picked it up and began runnning, prompting [Talib’s mother] Okolo to produce a gun and fire three shots toward him.
...Moms sharing guns:
Billings told police that Talib then took Okolo’s gun, said “I’ll shoot him” and fired at least two shots before Billings safely ducked into nearby woods.
...No snitching whatsoever:
Both Okolo and Aqib have retained lawyers and are, according to one source, not cooperating with investigators.
...Accidental arrests:
While interviewing him, officers discovered Billings was a suspect in two pending, related, family-violence offenses involving Saran and arrested him.
And my favorite part of all... This sentence:
Anger-fueled, irrational and dangerous behavior by Talib isn’t unusual.
Now, then: Who wants to date Aqib Talib’s sister?!
