Jamarcus Russell May Lose His House, Probably Needs Work
Jamarcus Russell has had a tough go of it since entering the NFL, and it’s not getting any better--according to documents obtained by TMZ, he’s behind almost $200,000 on his payments for a $2.4 million mansion, and banks have begun the process of foreclosure on the home.
So, we ask: On the scale of surprising news, from “Jamarcus Russell possibly resurrecting his career someday” to “Jamarcus Russell getting arrested with purple drank”, where does “Jamarcus Russell is now broke” fall? Keep in mind, he’s been out of the NFL for almost a year now, and as we all know, full length fur coats ain’t cheap.
...So yeah, I’m gonna say this is closer to purple drank on the scale of surprising Jamarcus Russell news. In fact, if you asked me to list all the players most likely to have their house foreclosed after football, I’m pretty sure the list would look like this:
- Freddie Mitchell
- Jamarcus Russell
- Jeremy Shockey
- Darren McFadden
- Chris Cooley, but only because he’ll spend all his money doing the most awesome things imaginable, like having the best Super Bowl Party ever, buying unnecessary fireworks, and commissioning elaborate paintings of he and his wife having intercourse in exotic locales.
Anyway, it’s not too surprising to hear that Jamarcus has fallen on hard times, and yes, we should all feel a little bit guilty for laughing at this sort of news. But let’s face it, he’s still the guy that made almost $100,000 for every NFL completion in his NFL career, so I’m not advocating anybody go too far with sympathy. Mainly, I think we should all just agree that Jamarcus needs another job in the NFL. For him and his house, obviously. But for us, too.
We need more purple drank scandals, more full length fur coats, more ridiculous interceptions, more false hope every preseason, and just... More Jamarcus in our lives, ya know? Even saying his name just puts a smile on my face. Jamarcus, Jamarcus, Jamarcus.
Come on. Somebody give him another big contract. Is that so much to ask?
