Bart Scott ‘Can’t Wait’ To Collect Royalties

There are two areas in which the New York Jets have every other team in the NFL beaten: Confidence and intellectual property rights. Following in the footsteps of teammate Darrelle Revis, Jets linebacker Bart Scott has trademarked "Can't Wait!" -- the phrase he made famous in a classic interview with Sal Paolantonio after the Jets' playoff win against the Patriots.

Scott explained his reasoning to ESPN. Give some credit to the ESPN crew that was willing to get that close to Scott after the last interview he did with them.

“It really took off on ESPN, it took over on YouTube. My wife said, ‘You should trademark it.’ Once I started to hear people were trying to make T-shirts, I said, ‘I tell you what, if anybody is going to benefit off ‘Can’t Wait’, it should be me.’”

Yes, it should definitely be Bart Scott. Because no one in the history of the English language has ever before put together the words "Can't" and "Wait" in a show of enthusiasm. This is clearly what the Founding Fathers had in mind when they wrote intellectual property rights into the Constitution.
