Though it's far from a confirmation that a deal between the owners and players will get done, it's good news that the Baltimore Ravens are extending the contracts of their assistant coaches through the 2012 season.

According to Albert Breer of NFL Network, the Ravens assistant coaches were previously under the impression that their contracts wouldn’t be addressed until after the lockout ended. That it’s happening now could be seen as good news on the labor front.
In fact, any sign of business as usual is a good sign. As far as we know, teams haven’t yet canceled training camp or anything like that so it’s still possible that a deal gets done and the only thing we truly lose is offseason OTAs.
Again, it’s not a sure thing that a labor deal would get done but I imagine the Ravens wouldn’t be doing this if they didn’t think getting in a full 2011 season was unlikely.
