Football Outsiders has compiled a list of the top 10 most disappointing playoff teams and, after reviewing the list, I must say that it's not a good day to be a Kansas City Chiefs fan. I run SB Nation's Chiefs blog, Arrowhead Pride, so I'm having some trouble digesting the list, which has KC ranked No. 1 for most disappointing playoff team in the last 25 years.
Most Disappointing Playoff Teams Starts With Kansas City Chiefs
They have the Chiefs 1995 and 1997 as the most disappointing and it’s hard to argue that. Prior to the 1996 season, Sports Illustrated had a cover story predicting the Chiefs in the big game but, like every other playoff game since January 1994, the Chiefs came away winless in the postseason.
What’s so ridiculous about the Chiefs playoff misfortunes -- they haven’t won a postseason game since Joe Montana was under center -- is that in 1995, 1997 and 2003 they won 13 games earning a first round bye....and they still lost their first playoff game each year.
Kansas City is well known for their playoff failures, which continued in 2011 with a January loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
Maybe this is finally the year...
