When you’ve won Comeback Player of the Year twice, your career is likely full of more injuries than you care to remember. Chad Pennington’s had plenty, not to mention the torn ACL he suffered in March.
Chad Pennington Will Probably Still Find A Way To Hurt Himself In TV Booth
Recovering from a massive injury while facing an NFL lockout with no end on sight, the free agent made the extremely-smart decision to skip whatever remains of the 2011-2012 season and head to the TV booth instead.
“I’m actually going to take this year off, get healthy and do some work for Fox Sports...I’m going to evaluate things and see where I am physically.”
Pennington has suffered four shoulder injuries, a fractured hand and an ankle sprain over his career. He’s also coming off a season which ended on the first play of the first game when he suffered a severe shoulder injury.
Chad will turn 35 on June 26. If he were to retire, he’d leave the game with the best completion percentage (66.0%), and the 12th highest passer rating (90.1) in NFL history.
