If you haven’t heard the name Jeffrey Kessler before then you probably will before the NFL lockout is over. He’s one of the NFLPA’s attorneys and he’s currently getting the blame for some of the bumps in the process of ending the NFL lockout.
It Seems Jeffrey Kessler Isn’t Very Popular In NFL Lockout Talks
Some have suggested he's behind reports that Logan Mankins and Vincent Jackson want $10 million each as part of the settlement with the owners. Others think he wants to blow the whole deal up and pursue the antitrust lawsuit.
Here’s what some of the NFL media is saying about Kessler:
Ross Tucker: I’m sure they’re swell guys but praying today is the last day I ever hear or see the names Pash, Kessler, & Batterman. Ever.
Don Banks: Some how I imagine in the NFL office, everyone says Kessler’s name like Seinfeld used to say “Newman!” Thru gritted teeth, with disdain.
Dave Goldberg: Could Kessler have alienated more people? On both sides? If that was his intent, it worked.
Tom Curran: In the statement from Mankins’ agent Frank Bauer, seems like Logan feels he got played by NFLPA lawyer Kessler.
