DeMaurice Smith Drops In For Hilarious ESPN Interview

DeMaurice Smith has emerged as one of the more entertaining characters in the NFL lockout so far and Thursday was no exception. Smith pulled the ultimate power play during the negotiations to end the lockout, waiting until the right moment to inform the owners of a large insurance policy meant to keep money flowing into the players hands in the event games are missed. He’s also been the face of the NFLPA, conducting various interviews on a daily basis for about the last five minutes.

You know, like this one that occurred moments after the owners voted to ratify a proposed agreement to end the lockout. Smith is strolling by as Chris Mortensen and George Smith speak live on ESPN, and decides to bomb the segment before interrupting it to hold court for a moment.

It was a day filled with hilarious moments for Smith, who spent the tension-filled hours of Thursday keeping reporters in the palm of his hand. Earlier in the day, Smith told reporters he’d be right back and to stay put because he was headed around the block for a stroll.

When reporters are stalking your every move, waiting outside buildings for hours on end, might as well make the most of it, right? And what better way to do it than by dropping a trollface in on live television?
