Former Buffalo Bills head coach Marv Levy has just penned his first fiction novel and it's totally not autobiographical, guys.
Marv Levy Rigged The Super Bowl (In His New Novel)
It’s about a professional football team (ahem), one character’s name is Kelly James (AHEM) and the Super Bowl is rigged (AH...what?).
So is Marv, loser of four Super Bowls, trying to tell us something here? Abolustely not, says Marv.
‘‘It’s exaggerated,’’ he insists...
‘‘I never have suspected or sensed a whiff of cheating in any of our Super Bowls,’’ he says.
As a huge fan of fake professional sports teams, I’m eager to see what Marv came up with. Let’s check out the synopsis:
The Los Angeles Leopards and the Portland Pioneers are on a collision course toward the Super Bowl. One team is led by a take-no-prisoners head coach; the other is led by a cerebral, slow-and-steady coach who has been thrust into the spotlight because of a tragedy. But on the way to the big game, the integrity of the game comes under question.
I’m sold on the Pioneers. Honestly, it’s either Trail Blazers or Pioneers for a good Portland sports team. As for the Leopards...I suppose that still makes more sense than Lakers or Dodgers when you think about it.
