DeSean Jackson is one of the NFL’s most electrifying players, and also has one of the greatest production-to-compensation gulfs in the league. And Jackson will hold out from the Philadelphia Eagles’ training camp in an effort to rectify that, according to Philly Sports Daily.
DeSean Jackson Will Hold Out From Eagles Training Camp, Reportedly
Jackson made 47 catches for 1,056 yards in 2010, averaging a staggering 22.5 yards per reception. And he gave the Eagles six touchdown receptions, three rushing scores, a game-winning punt return touchdown, and a deep threat for Michael Vick that helped the Eagles score 30 or more points on six occasions last season.
But Jackson, entering his fourth season out of California, is scheduled to make just $565,000 in 2011, a number that isn’t nearly commensurate with his two Pro Bowl selections. And thus, here comes the holdout.
