As they say in NFL free agency, one team's trash is another team's treasure. We'll see if that's the case with DE Derrick Harvey, who was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars last week and reportedly signed to the Denver Broncos this week.
Derrick Harvey Finds A Home With Denver Broncos, According To Report
Harvey is the Jaguars 2008 first round pick as they traded all the way from No. 26 to No. 8 to pick him up. That didn’t work out as the Jags released him just three years later so he’s been a disappointment in the NFL thus far.
Harvey played in the Jaguars 4-3 defense and he’ll do the same in Denver as the Broncos are reverting back to the 4-3 in John Fox’s new defense.
If a few of these guys work out, the Broncos will have a decent set of pass-rushers. At one defensive end spot will be Elvis Dumervil and the other will be first round pick Robert Ayers. The Broncos also selected LB Von Miller with the second overall pick this year. I'm not sure where Harvey fits in on the depth chart right now but he could be in the mix.
