Dontay Moch Injury: Bengals Rookie LB Breaks Bone In Foot
Bengals third-round linebacker Dontay Moch breaks the fifth metatarsal in his right foot
The injury is expected to sideline Moch for up to eight weeks.
Moch had his right foot in a protective boot and was using crutches following last night's 34-3 loss to the Detroit Lions. According to Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer, Moch had informed teammates that he broke the fifth metatarsal in his foot on the first series of the game.
Moch was credited with a special teams tackle after bringing down Lions wide receiver Rashied Davis, who had recovered a fumble by Bengals return man John Griffin early in the first quarter.
The 6-foot-1, 248-pound Moch played defensive end at the University of Nevada, but due to his lack of size, the Bengals are moving Moch back to linebacker. Moch posted 27.5 quarterback sacks during his college career and will likely get opportunities to rush the quarterback in nickel packages.
