Cowboys Re-sign Gerald Sensabaugh To One-Year Contract

The Cowboys bring back their starting safety, Gerald Sensabaugh, with a one-year $2.5 million contract.

The Dallas Cowboys have reached an agreement with safety Gerald Sensabaugh to bring the 28-year-old back for one year and $2.5 million dollars, according to a report.

The Cowboys get a bargain here, as Sensabaugh has quietly been one of the more productive safeties in the NFL the past few years. He’s recorded at least 66 tackles in each of the past three seasons and recorded 10 interceptions over that timespan.

What's more, the 'Boys get to solidify their secondary after losing out on the top free agent of the offseason, Nnamdi Asomugha. For Sensabaugh, this will be his third consecutive one-year contract, according to the Cowboys' website. He was in Dallas the past two seasons after four in Jacksonville, so I guess the Cowboys really like negotiating with his agent every year.

Sensabaugh will once again team with Terence Newman and Orlando Scandrick in what will likely be an overmatched secondary — at least twice a year, when they face the Eagles.
