Jarrad Page And Eagles Agree To Terms, According To Report

The Eagles sign another defensive back, inking former Chief and Patriot safety Jarrad Page to a one-year agreement.

The Philadelphia Eagles and former Patriots and Chiefs safety Jarrad Page have agreed to a one-year contract, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

What the Eagles have done to the rest of the league should be illegal. I don’t know the exact terms of the lockout agreement, but there had to have been a provision in there where the Eagles are eligible to call dibs on every available free agent. No backsies.

Page isn't a Nnamdi Asomugha or even a Ronnie Brown-level acquisition, but he's got some game. He showed continuous improvement in his first three years in the league with the Chiefs, peaking in 2008 when he recorded 85 tackles, four interceptions and 12 pass breakups.

The past two years have been the polar opposite, as injuries de-railed Page in 2009, limiting him to five games and only 19 tackles. He requested a trade from the Chiefs the following year, and got what he wished for. He was shipped off to the Patriots where he was a backup safety and missed another six games due to injury.
