The Tennessee Titans travel to St. Louis to face the Rams in their second contest of the preseason. The Titans enter their second preseason game without Pro Bowl running back Chris Johnson who is continuing his contract holdout. The game provides another opportunity to see if a running back can step up in place of the disgruntled Johnson. The Titans won their preseason opener 14-3 thanks to a strong defensive performance and a strong and efficient debut from rookie Jake Locker.
The Rams enter their second preseason game coming off a dominant performance against the Indianapolis Colts. Although any preseason performance has to be taken with a grain of salt, the Rams offense looked solid in spite of Steven Jackson sitting out the game. The Rams enter their second game knowing most of their starters and simply looking to build on their depth. One pivotal area to watch in this game will be the Rams third through fifth cornerback positions where Al Harris and Justin King will battle for significant playing time.
