The Denver Broncos have their Week 1 starting quarterback and his name is not Tim Tebow. According to the Denver Post, head coach John Fox has named Kyle Orton his starting quarterback for the first week of the season.
Kyle Orton Named Broncos Week 1 Starter; Tim Tebow, Brady Quinn Battle For No. 2
Broncos head coach John Fox named Kyle Orton the team’s starting quarterback for the first week of the 2011 season.

This isn’t much of a surprise. Orton is clearly the best option and the Broncos have likely known that for a while. But because Tebow’s name was involved, this situation got a lot of attention.
So Orton starts Week 1 for the Broncos and, if my prediction, remains the starter all season. He's receiving over $8 million in the 2011 season so, after they decided to hang onto him after trade rumors started up with the Miami Dolphins, naming him the starter was the most likely option.
In addition to Orton’s salary, he’s also been working with the first team throughout camp which is another reason this shouldn’t be a surprise.
Tebow now battles Brady Quinn for the backup job and it's been reported that Quinn is leading that battle.
