After three straight seasons of solid production, the Pittsburgh Steelers have signed linebacker Lawrence Timmons to a five-year contract extension. ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that the new contract is worth $50 million. It has not been revealed how much guaranteed money Timmons will receive as a part of the new contract.

Linebacker Lawrence Timmons has signed a new five-year, $50 million contract.
Pass rushing specialist LaMarr Woodley also signed a new contract this offseason, worth six years and $61.5 million, setting some financial precedent for Timmons' contract. The two linebackers, along with James Farrior and James Harrison, make up one of the most formidable corps of linebackers in the league. Now, at least two of those players will be on the team for the foreseeable future.
