Marvin Austin’s Injury Will End His Season For Giants
The Giants suffered more bad injury news when head coach Tom Coughlin revealed that DT Marvin Austin is expected to miss the season with a torn pectoral.
The latest season-ending injury is to DT Marvin Austin. The Giants second round pick in the 2011 NFL draft tore his pectoral muscle and Giants head coach Tom Coughlin said it appears to be a season-ending injury.
What a blow for the Giants who continue to get terrible injury news. It makes you wonder how much the lockout, and the loss of the offseason program, had to do with these injuries. There’s no way to really tell if it did but that’s the easy story line to connect this to.
Austin comes from the University of North Carolina where he was projected as one of the top players available following his junior season. Instead of a senior season building on that, he was suspended by the school for receiving improper benefits which contributed to his slide into the second round on draft day.
