Orlando Scandrick, Dallas Cowboys Reach Contract Extension, According To Report

The Dallas Cowboys have signed cornerback Orlando Scandrick to a five-year, $27 million extension, according to a report. Scandrick, 26, is entering his fourth NFL season.

The Dallas Cowboys and cornerback Orlando Scandrick have reached a contract extension, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The deal is reportedly for five years and $27 million. He will receive $10 million in guaranteed money.

Scandrick is entering his fourth NFL season, having been drafted by out of Boise State by the Cowboys in the fifth round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He’s played in every regular season game, but has made just nine career starts. He’s intercepted just two passes as well.

Scandrick was the slot cornerback for the Cowboys in years past, but he is currently listed as the starting left cornerback on the team’s depth chart. The Cowboys must feel he is going to step up his game this season to give him such a huge contract.
