The New York Jets and New York Giants were scheduled play on Saturday night but Hurricane Irene has postponed the game so it's now on Monday Night Football. The game can be seen locally in New York and on NFL Network for the national crowd.
Jets Vs. Giants: Focusing On Mark Sanchez, Plaxico Burress And Santonio Holmes
One of the things I'm looking for in this game is how QB Mark Sanchez handles his new weapon, WR Plaxico Burress, and other passing game targets like WR Santonio Holmes and TE Dustin Keller (especially since I just took Keller on my fantasy football team).
The Jets have a good shot to gain some momentum in the passing game against the Giants, who have lost a whopping five cornerbacks due to injury in the preseason, including starting CB Terrell Thomas.
The Jets starters are expected to play into the second half which gives Sanchez and Co. plenty of time to become familiar with each other. Remember, Burress missed a decent chunk of camp with a minor ankle injury so those two in particular will need all the time together they can get.
Additionally, I want to see Sanchez work well with Holmes and Keller, two holdovers from the 2010 season.
SB Nation’s New York teams are fired up for the game already. Check out Gang Green Nation for Jets talk and head to Big Blue View to get caught up on the Giants.
