QB Marc Bulger Opts To Retire From NFL, According To Report

QB Marc Bulger, 34, has decided to retire from the NFL after nine seasons.

Though he's received interest from a number of teams, QB Marc Bulger is retiring from the NFL, according to a report from the Baltimore Sun. Bulger, 34, ends his career after playing one season as the backup quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens in 2010.

Bulger, at the height of his game with the Rams, was a very good quarterback. He had the distinction of following QB Kurt Warner with the St. Louis Rams. He came on in 2003 when he threw for 22 touchdowns but...also threw 22 interceptions. He quickly worked on the interception problem and from 2004-2006 he was consistently one of the more efficient quarterbacks and cut down on the interceptions.

His last very good season came in 2006 when he threw for over 4,000 yards, 24 touchdowns and just eight interceptions earning a Pro Bowl berth.

From there, he struggled with the Rams leaving after the 2009 season and joining the Ravens on a $3.8 million contract. He didn’t play a snap in Baltimore last season.

Check out Baltimore Beatdown to see what Ravens fans are saying about their backup quarterback situation and keep an eye on Turf Show Times as those in St. Louis remember Bulger’s career.
