The New York Giants have signed free agent offensive lineman Stacy Andrews, Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News reports. Terms were not disclosed.

The New York Giants have signed veteran offensive lineman Stacy Andrews
A fourth-round pick (123rd overall) out of Mississippi by the Cincinnati Bengals in 2004, Andrews started 32 games during his final three seasons in Cincinnati, including 15 at left tackle while playing under the franchise tag in 2008. Andrews suffered a torn ACL in his final game with the Bengals, which figured to diminish his value in free agency. Despite the injury, the Philadelphia Eagles signed the veteran to a six-year, $42 million contract in 2009, reuniting him with his younger brother, Shawn Andrews.
The 6-foot-7, 342-pound Andrews started just two of 10 games with the Eagles in 2009, and agreed to a dramatically restructured contract the following offseason. That was not enough to keep in Philadelphia, however, as he was traded to the Seattle Seahawks for a late-round draft choice in September. (Shawn Andrews had missed the 2009 season and was released the following March, so the two brothers never got to play on the same line.)
Andrews started at right guard for 12 of his 13 games with the Seahawks, but was inactive for the final three weeks of the regular season and both of Seattle’s playoff games. Due $5.25 million in base salary this season, along with a $500,000 workout bonus, the Seahawks terminated his contract last Thursday, the same day his new team terminated his brother’s contract.
The Giants have moved David Diehl to left guard, with 2009 second-round pick Will Beatty opening training camp as the starting left tackle. Veteran Kareem McKenzie remains at his right tackle spot, and Chris Snee is a perennial Pro Bowler at right guard. So unless one of those four is injured and more shuffling is needed, Andrews' role with the Giants will likely be as backup guard and tackle.
