LB Ben Leber spent his first four years in the league with the San Diego Chargers and his next five with the Minnesota Vikings. His 10th year in the league will be with the St. Louis Rams. ESPN's John Clayton reports that Leber and the Rams agreed to terms on a one-year deal.
Ben Leber, Former Vikings LB, Picks Rams In Free Agency, According To Report
Former Vikings LB Ben Leber, one of the best remaining players in free agency, agreed to terms with the Rams.
He was one of the best remaining free agents out there and reportedly chose the Rams over the Seattle Seahawks and other teams.
His contract spans one year so he’ll be able to re-enter free agency in 2012. This is a trend we’re seeing with some of the bigger names remaining on the free agent market. If they haven’t signed with a team yet, then their window at getting a big contract is pretty limited, if not over. The easiest way to recoup that money is to sign a short-term deal and try free agency against next year.
