During the NFL lockout, teams weren't allowed to communicate with players but it was believed by many that the two sides were communicating anyway. One confirmed report of a coach talking to players comes from Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris, who admitted on Monday that he talked with players during the lockout.

Bucs head coach Raheem Morris becomes the first coach to admit breaking league rules and talking with his players during the NFL lockout.
“Yeah, I called Kellen [Winslow] to say, ‘Congratulations on your new baby’” Raheem said. “I haven’t heard any reports about, I heard the rumors about the fine and all that type of stuff, but I haven’t gotten anything from the league.
“Yeah, I called Aqib when he [went] to jail. I called Kellen when he had a baby. Thanks JoeBucsFan for talking about that and getting my phone records checked. I appreciate that.”
The bit about JoeBucsFan is a reference to JoeBucsFan.com, who originally transcribed a radio interview involving Morris back in June. At the time, Morris had indicated that he talked to his players “all the time”. Pro Football Talk reported that the league checked Morris’ phone records and he had made seven calls to players.
We’ll see if Morris is fined or disciplined in anyway for his admission that he talked with players.
