The New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins played one of the most entertaining games of Week 1 of the 2011 NFL season on Monday night, as Tom Brady and the Patriots outgunning Chad Henne's Dolphins, 38-24.
NFL Scores Week 1: Patriots Beat Dolphins, 38-24, Behind Tom Brady’s Record Night
Tom Brady threw for a team record 517 yards as the Patriots defeated the Dolphins, 38-24, in Monday Night Football’s 2011 debut.

Brady threw for a Patriots record 517 yards, the fifth-most in NFL history, and had four touchdown passes, including a 99-yarder to Wes Welker. It was the 12th 99-yard pass play in NFL history, and first since 2008. And Brady's great night in the air came despite an interception early in the second half that allowed Miami to tie the game at 14. The Patriots poured on 24 second half points after that juncture.
A slew of Patriots receivers ended up with eye-popping numbers. Welker had eight catches for 160 yards and two touchdowns, Aaron Hernandez snagged seven passes for 103 yards and a score, and Deion Branch caught seven passes for 93 yards. Lost in all the gaudy numbers? Chad Ochocinco's one catch for 14 yards in his first game in a Patriots uniform.
Henne's night was nothing to sneeze at, either: he threw for 416 yards in the losing effort and was also the Dolphins' leading rusher, scrambling for 59 yards and scoring a touchdown on the ground in the first half. Brandon Marshall caught seven of Henne's passes for 139 yards, and Reggie Bush had a combined 94 rushing and receiving yards in his Dolphins debut.
