Michael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles travel to Atlanta to take on the Falcons in an NFC battle that also represents a sort of homecoming for Vick. The NFL odds makers apparently don't foresee Vick making a huge impact during his first start back at home in the Georgia Dome, however, as the Eagles are very slim favorites to a team that dropped last week's season-opener 30-12 to the Chicago Bears.
NFL Odds Week 2: Eagles Vs. Falcons
Vick and the Eagles are just one-point favorites according to Odds Shark, possibly due to the nerves that might come with returning to Atlanta after being exiled from there earlier in his career for his part in a dog-fighting ring. The Falcons didn't look like anything special in Week 1 and the Eagles rolled behind running back LeSean McCoy despite a sub-par throwing performance from the team's All-World quarterback.
The Falcons will need more production out of their passing game as Vick's replacement in Atlanta, Matt Ryan, wasn't able to throw a touchdown pass last week despite airing it our for 319 total yards, the majority split among Tony Gonzalez and Julio Jones.
This Sunday it seems the smart money would be on the Eagles to cover, but the over-under -- currently set at 50½ -- is a bit more tricky to predict. With two great offenses, though, it seems the over is certainly a possibility.
