Cardinals Vs. Redskins: The Inevitable Untimely Rex Grossman Interception

When you open the season with Rex Grossman as your starting quarterback, you must know you're playing with fire, right? While the former first-round draft pick looked downright decent in Week 1, it didn't take long in Week 2 for Grossman to revert to his old habits.

On the Washington Redskins' first drive of the game, Grossman took his team down the Arizona Cardinals' 6-yard line. But on 3rd-and-goal, Grossman was flushed out of the pocket and lobbed an ill-advised pass toward the goal-line. He badly overthrew his receiver, allowing Adrian Wilson to pick it off at the 2.

Just for good measure, Grossman was at it again on the ensuing drive. After completing the first three passes of the drive, Grossman threw over the middle to Anthony Armstrong, who got a hand on the ball but only served to deflect into the waiting arms of Richard Marshall.

For those of you keeping track, Grossman has now thrown two interceptions in 13 passes against a secondary that is probably one of the worst in the NFL. Oh, and for good measure, the Cardinals scored on the second of those interceptions.
