NFL Scores Week 2: Bills Comes Back From 18 Down To Beat Raiders In Wild Finish

The Buffalo Bills offense cannot be stopped. After scoring 41 points against the Chiefs in week one, the Bills scored 35 points in the second half to come back from a 21-3 deficit and stun the Oakland Raiders 38-35.

There were five lead changes in the fourth quarter, the last was a six-yard touchdown strike from Ryan Fitzpatrick to a wide-open Daniel Nelson for a 6-yard touchdown with 13 seconds left. After a quick 24-yard catch to bring the Raiders to their 44-yard line, Jason Campbell heaved a hail mary to the end zone with no seconds left, and it was seemingly caught by three different players, but Bills rookie CB Da'Norris Searcy came away with the game-saving interception.

There were some mindblowing offensive numbers put up in this game, nothing stands out more than Nelson’s 10 receptions, including five on the game-winning drive, but Raiders’ rookie WR Denarius Moore’s 171 total yards, including an insane 50-yard touchdown grab to give the Raiders’ their last lead of the game. Full stats from the game can be found here.

Campbell was, for his part, superb. The Raiders’ defense gave up five touchdowns in five possessions to the Bills offense in the second half, which is difficult for any offense, let alone one which claims its best receiver as a rooke fifth-round pick (Moore). J-Soup finished the game 23/32 with 323 yards, two TDs and no interceptions.

The Raiders will try to bounce back from this gut-punch loss next week against the New York Jets in their home openers. The Bills will try to go 3-0 for the first time since 2008 at home against the New England Patriots.
