NFL Scores Week 2: Giants Top Rams 28-16 For Monday Night Football Win

The Giants scored on the ground, through the air and with their defense in their 28-16 win against the Rams on Monday Night Football. In the end, it was too much for St. Louis, which repeatedly settled for field goals in the first half when it could have had touchdowns.

The game turned in the Giants' favor when linebacker Michael Boley picked up a botched lateral and returned it to the house to put New York up 14-6 in the second quarter. More importantly, Boley celebrated by pegging the football into the face of an innocent bystander, the indisputable highlight of the game.

Domenik Hixon put the game away for all intents and purposes with a ridiculous, circus TD catch (video) that he bobbled in the end zone. Of course, he was injured on the play. The Giants also lost WR Mario Manningham to a concussion, and depth at wide receiver could be a problem going forward.

For the Rams, Sam Bradford threw for 331 yards and a touchdown, but he completed just 22 of 46 passes (47 percent). In addition to a sub-par receiving corps, Bradford clearly missed the presence of stud running back Steven Jackson, who was inactive due to a strained quadriceps suffered in Week 1. Starting in his place, Cadillac Williams tallied just 36 yards on 13 carries. For more stats, visit the Rams vs. Giants box score.
