The Cincinnati Bengals lost CB Jonathan Joseph to the Houston Texans in free agency but they weren't going to let that happen with their other cornerback, Leon Hall.
Leon Hall Gets $39 Million Contract Extension From Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals lost CB Jonathan Joseph in free agency but they won’t let that happen to CB Leon Hall as they wrapped him up to a four-year extension on Friday.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Hall signed a four-year, $39 million extension with the Bengals that will keep him in Cincy through the 2015 season. $14 million of that is guaranteed, according to the report.
The Bengals signed CB Nate Clements after Joseph left in free agency so he’ll team with Hall as the Bengals starting cornerbacks in 2011. Joseph is better than Clements, in my opinion, but this still isn’t a bad group to enter the season with.
SB Nation’s Cincy Jungle calls this “good news” for Bengals fans.
After losing Johnathan Joseph to the Texans in free agency, many were worried that Leon Hall, whose contract was set to end at the end of the 2011 season, would move on to greener pastures as well. Keeping Hall locked up as a member of the Bengals secondary was a wise move and was considered to be just as important as extending Whitworth’s contract.
