Chris Johnson, who held out the entire preseason before signing a four-year, $53 million extension, has struggled to live up to expectations thus far for the Titans. In his first two games, he's combined for just 79 yards, averaging a dismal 2.9 yards per carry.

After tallying just 15 touches (nine carries, six receptions) in Week 1 against the Jaguars, Johnson had 27 (24 carries, three receptions) in Week 2 against the Ravens. The increased workload apparently took its toll, as Teresa Walker of the AP reports on Twitter that Johnson missed practice with sore ribs. He's expected to be listed on the official injury report with a rib injury.

At this point it doesn’t sound like there’s a chance that Johnson will be sidelined for Tennessee’s Week 3 matchup with the Broncos. In fact, head coach Mike Munchak said Johnson’s soreness was expected after his workload last weekend, and both Johnson and Munchak expect Johnson will be able to resume practice on Thursday.

Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean also tweeted that Johnson told reporters “he is eager to get into open space on Sunday, and thinks he’s getting closer to breaking free,” which would be welcome development both for fantasy owners and Titans fans alike.
