Even with an 0-2 record, our partners Odds Shark shows that the Carolina Panthers (-3.5) have opened as the favorites over the 1-1 Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 3.
NFL Odds Week 3: Jaguars Vs. Panthers
Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers are early favorites at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Panthers may be without a win, and have lost two starting linebackers (Jon Beason, Thomas Davis) to season-ending injuries the first two weeks of the season, but they clearly do not have issues at quarterback. No. 1 overall pick Cam Newton ranks second in the NFL with 854 passing yards, setting multiple rookie passing yardage records in his first two NFL starts. Newton also leads the Panthers in rushing yards (71) and rushing touchdowns (2), but also league in interceptions (4), which has been contributing factor to the team's 0-2 record.
Newton could go head-to-head with fellow first-round quarterback Blaine Gabbert. The 10th overall pick of the 2011 NFL Draft made his NFL debut in relief of ineffective starter Luke McCown in the Jaguars' 32-3 loss to the New York Jets on Sunday. Head coach Jack Del Rio would not commit to when a starting quarterback for this week would be named, so be sure to bookmark Big Cat Country for updates on the quarterback situation.
