Fresh off a convincing win over the Baltimore Ravens, the 1-1 Tennessee Titans opened as four-and-a-half point favorites, a line that our partner Odds Shark shows has risen considerably early in the week.
NFL Odds Week 3: Broncos Vs. Titans
Matt Hasselbeck and the Tennessee Titans are favored over the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
Discarded by the Seattle Seahawks, veteran quarterback Matt Hasselbeck has quickly adapted to Chris Palmer's offense, completing 67.1 percent of his 76 pass attempts for 621 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions for a passer rating of 94.2 on the season. The Titans' offense is supposed to flow through perennial Pro Bowl running back Chris Johnson, who has just 77 yards on 33 carries a few short weeks after signing a four-year, $53.5 million contract extension.
Johnson could have an easier time running the ball against a short-handed Broncos defense that ranks 28th against the run over the first two weeks of the season. The Broncos lost defensive tackle Ty Warren for the season, and have been without linebacker D.J. Williams, defensive end Elvis Dumervil and cornerback Champ Bailey for much of the season. Despite being beat up on both sides of the ball -- running back Knowshon Moreno and wide receiver Demaryius Thomas, two former first-round picks, missed last week's game against the Cincinnati Bengals -- the Broncos have clawed their way to a 1-1 record under first-year head coach John Fox.
