The Indianapolis Colts were able to get themselves on the scoreboard before the second half of Sunday Night Football began, capitalizing on a fumble by Ben Roethlisberger and cutting the Pittsburgh Steelers lead to seven. The Colts had a first and goal, but were unable to throw it into the endzone, eventually sending Adam Vinatieri out for a chip-shot field goal.
Colts Vs. Steelers Score: Adam Vinatieri Field Goal Puts Indianapolis On The Board
The Colts took over at midfield when Robert Mathis sacked Roethlisberger, forcing the fumble -- that he recovered -- in the process. The Colts offense then was able to move the ball down to the Steelers' three-yard line, but after a holding penalty, a Joseph Addai run and two passing completions to Dallas Clark that didn't end up in the end zone, the Colts were forced to settle for the Vinatieri field goal.
Kerry Collins is now 9-of-18 for 80 yards, though the inability to score a touchdown so close to the end zone has to be discouraging.
