Fantasy football owners might be breathing a bit of a sigh of relief on Monday as word out of Philadelphia indicates Eagles QB Michael Vick only has a contusion of the hand and not a fracture or break. After rumors floated around the Vick might miss up to three or four weeks with the injury, a hand contusion lowers that estimate to day-to-day. According to Eagles head coach Andy Reid, Vick's availability for Sunday against the 49ers depends on how much the swelling in his hand goes down during the week.
Michael Vick Injury: Bruise Improves Chances Vick Plays Sunday
This leaves fantasy owners waiting again, much like last week. However, if the injury is just a contusion, odds are high that he’ll be ready to go on Sunday. We’ll be around to provide updates throughout the week as his participation in practice on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will tell us plenty about his potential availability. I’d imagine official word out of Philly will be fairly limited to keep the 49ers guessing, but if Vick is practicing, he’s likely playing.
