Ryan Grant Injury Update: Kidney Bruise Could Keep Packers RB On Sideline

Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy stated that running back Ryan Grant suffered a kidney bruise in the Packers 27-17 victory over the Chicago Bears. Grant reportedly suffered the injury approximately 11 minutes into the game but was able to continue through the end of the game. He left in an ambulance after the game to get x-rays, which came back negative.

Kidney injuries can be tough to figure out because of the importance of the organ to the body. We'll learn more over the course of the week depending on his practice participation. It's safe to say he'll be somewhat limited at least on Wednesday, and possibly the entire week. If Grant is unable to play on Sunday against the Denver Broncos, James Starks would get most of the carries with John Kuhn getting some backup carries.

For now we’ll just wait to see how practice goes this week and if Mike McCarthy is able to provide any sort of update on the injury in the coming days.
