Cleveland Browns running back Peyton Hillis was back on the practice field Wednesday after missing this past Sunday's game with strep throat and a fever. Hillis arrived at the stadium Sunday with the intention of playing but was still sufficiently under the weather that he was deactivated a couple hours before the game.
Peyton Hillis Injury Update: Recovery From Strep Throat Believed To Be Complete
This week it sounds like Hillis will be set to play against a Tennessee Titans squad that has been quite solid against both the run and the pass through three weeks. Football Outsiders ranks them second against the run and third against the pass, which could make for a tough day for Hillis.
As long as Hillis is active on Sunday, he'll be the start over Montario Hardesty, who filled in for Hillis against the Miami Dolphins. Hardesty rushed 14 times for 67 yards and that 4.8 ypc could be enough to get him a few more carries each week even with Hillis back. If you have Hardesty, he remains a decent handcuff option and a bench guy for if Hillis gets hurt. Otherwise his value is fairly limited.
