Houston Texans running back Arian Foster was in fact a full participant in practice Wednesday and as previously referenced, is expected to start Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The one question mark that remains is exactly how many carries Foster will get on Sunday. Foster has been battling back from a hamstring injury and they can easily be aggravated. Thus it makes sense for Texans to take their time working him back into a full work load.
Arian Foster Injury Update: Expected To Start, But Workload Questions Remain
So should that impact your decision whether to start Foster this weekend? I’d say no because part of Gary Kubiak’s comments could be to play some mind games with Mike Tomlin and the Steelers. As a Mike Shanahan disciple, it wouldn’t be surprising for Kubiak to hold back complete information in regards to Foster.
I think if Foster gets off to a solid start he'll get the bulk of the load. At the same time, if Ben Tate is not slowed by his Sunday ankle injury, he's done enough to earn additional work even with Foster back. I could very well see a 2/3, 1/3 split of carries on Sunday.
