Mardy Gilyard Tweets He’s Among St. Louis Rams Roster Cuts

WR Mardy Gilyard was coming from Cincinnati as he entered the 2010 NFL draft and I remember he received some hype as a guy that will help a team in the NFL one day. The St. Louis Rams bit, making him their fourth round pick that year.

Just one season later and Gilyard appears to be a victim of NFL roster cuts. Via his Twitter account:

Jus got released isshhh is getting real na ugh!!!!

It’s a surprise but not a major surprise if you look back at his 2010 season. He had just six receptions for 63 yards all of last season.

The Rams made a few more moves on Friday releasing the following players: end Damario Ambrose, linebacker Pete Fleps, guard Randall Hunt, cornerback Tae Evans, cornerback Jeremy McGee, running back Van Stumon and tackle Cody Habben.

Hop on over to SB Nation’s Turf Show Times to see the impact of Gilyard’s release. They previously predicted that Gilyard would make the roster so it is a surprise.
