Daniel Thomas Injury Update: Out For Sunday Versus San Diego Chargers

After missing out on practice Friday, Miami Dolphins running back Daniel Thomas would appear to be officially out for Sunday's game against the San Diego Chargers. Thomas was not on the team's charter flight west, which would seem to be every indication you need that he will not play Sunday.

This news means that Reggie Bush will likely get the bulk of the carries. What will be more interesting than Bush's performance is how the team works in newly acquired running back Steve Slaton. After a monster first season in which he ran for 1,282 yards, Slaton has rushed for 550 yards in the subsequent three seasons. He is getting a chance at a new life in Miami and even with limited time learning the playbook, I could see him becoming a factor in that backfield. Don't start grabbing Slaton yet, but monitor his work load on Sunday. Given Thomas' balky hamstring, keep Slaton on your radar.
