Chester Taylor Signed By Arizona Cardinals, According To Report

The Arizona Cardinals have signed veteran running back Chester Taylor to a one-year deal, according to Jason La Canfora.

Taylor had 267 yards on an awful 2.4 yards per attempt for the Chicago Bears last season. The Bears released him on Saturday in a move that seemed likely, given the Bears’ acquisition of Marion Barber. Before the Bears, Taylor played for the Baltimore Ravens and Minnesota Vikings.

For the Cardinals, Taylor will step in after a preseason injury to second-round pick Ryan Williams.

Taylor will likely play the role of a third down back and a guy who can pick up the blitz very well on passing downs …As a vested veteran, Taylor was not forced to waivers and was able to sign with whatever team he chose.

The Cardinals also claimed cornerbacks Crezdon Butler (from the Steelers) and Korey Lindsey (from the Bengals).
