NFL Odds Week 1: Saints Vs. Packers

The Packers are the oddsmakers’ favorites for the NFL season opener, but folks seem to be optimistic about the Saints’ chances, bringing the line closer to even since lines opened.

Whether you gamble or not, it's always fun to check on the odds for NFL games. There's nothing better to send you into panic like thousands of people betting their hard earned dollars against your team, and there's nothing better to give you a glowing sense of optimism like the opposite. Our friends over at Oddshark.com are keeping track of all of the action for the season opener between the New Orleans Saints and the Green Bay Packers, and it seems like folks are optimistic about the Saints' chances of at least keeping it close.

The Packers opened as five-point favorites, but some action on the Saints has brought the line back to +4 for most oddsmakers and +3 1/2 at the lowest. People are also expecting some scoring, as the over/under has moved up half a point, from 46 1/2 to 47. Based on both teams’ offensive production last season, that seems perfectly reasonable.
