We all know how good the New England Patriots are and how good they've been for the last decade. They're among the cream of the crop in the NFL right now and head coach Bill Belichick, who also makes personnel decisions, is often given credit for that.

When Belichick picks someone up, the rest of the league seems to take notice, and when they drop someone, the league also seems to take notice. (But they’re not perfect by any means, either, and their 2007 draft is a great example of that.)

Once Carolina claims CB Darius Butler, there will be 13 players who went to camp with Patriots with other teams. They’ve become a farm team.
That’s crazy. Some of those, like Butler, are draft mistakes by the Patriots. As I noted, they’re not perfect but what helps them, I think, is that they’re not afraid to admit their mistakes. Butler didn’t fit so, even though he was a second round pick just two years ago, he gets the boot.
