The Oakland Raiders have done something they're all too familiar with -- fired the head coach. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that in a surprising turn of events the Raiders have fired Hue Jackson as the team's head coach. The move apparently comes from the new general manager, Reggie McKenzie.

Jackson came to the Raiders for the 2010 season and he received the interim job when head coach Tom Cable was fired. After that season the Raiders gave him the full-time head coaching job.

With the passing of Al Davis last year, the Raiders decided to hire a general manager, which turned out to be Reggie McKenzie from the Green Bay Packers. It had been reported that McKenzie could end up firing Jackson so this move doesn't come completely out of the blue but it's still surprising.
