Jacksonville Jaguars offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter is interviewing Wednesday for the open Alabama Crimson Tide offensive coordinator position, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Jaguars OC Dirk Koetter Interviewing For Alabama OC Job, According To Report
Jacksonville’s Dirk Koetter is amongst the many OC’s interviewing for the coveted Alabama position.
Alabama's current offensive coordinator Jim McElwain has left to become the head coach of the Colorado St. Rams.
Koetter is still a member of the Jaguars staff but since Jacksonville hired former Falcons offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey as head coach Tuesday night, there is good reason to believe he will bring in his own staff. Koetter has held the offensive coordinator position at Jacksonville since 2007.
Koetter has previous college experience as an OC at UTEP, Missouri, Boston College and Oregon. He was also the head coach at Boise State and Arizona State, compiling a 66-44 record and taking his teams to six bowl games.
According to Al.com, Alabama will also meet with former New York Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer on Wednesday.
