Chicago Bears GM Search Has Four Candidates

The Bears GM search includes four early candidates who will interview with the team.

The Chicago Bears fired GM Jerry Angelo following the season and they're now in search of a new person to lead the franchise. According to the Bears official site, there are four early candidates who will interview with the team.

The candidates include: Phil Emery (Chiefs director of college scouting), Jason Licht (Patriots director of pro personnel), Jimmy Raye (Chargers director of player personnel) and Marc Ross (Giants director of college scouting).

Emery has been with the Chiefs since the 2009 season. He was previously with the Atlanta Falcons and served as an area scout for the Bears from 1998-2004.

Licht originally joined the Patriots back in 1999 as a college scout until 2002. From there he moved onto other roles with the Eagles and Cardinals before returning to New England in 2009.

Raye handles the Chargers pro and college scouting departments. He joined the Chargers in 1996 as a scout before moving onto the director of college scouting from 2000-07.

Ross started with the Giants in 1995 before moving onto the Eagles in 1996, where he stayed until 2000. He was the league’s youngest college scouting director in 2000.

Interim GM Tim Ruskell will also be a candidate.
