Giants Vs. Packers: Ahmad Bradshaw’s Injury Keeps Him Out Of Practice; D.J. Ware Returns

The New York Giants running game hit full stride last week against the Atlanta Falcons, racking up 172 yards behind Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs. That running attack received some good news for Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers: the concussion that D.J. Ware suffered last week apparently wasn't too serious and the running back has returned to practice. The bad news: Bradshaw is now dealing with a sore back, and has yet to practice this week.

Ware had just one carry for four yards in the NFC Wild Card before leaving the game. Given the NFL’s stringent policy regarding concussion symptoms, it is somewhat surprising to hear that he was back on the field stretching in pads in front of media. A healthy Ware could prove important, especially if Bradshaw is limited in any way.

As for Bradshaw, it has become somewhat standard that he sit out all but Friday’s practice on a weekly basis due to a broken bone in his foot. The addition of the sore back raises questions, however, especially if he really has been just sitting in the trainer’s room the past few couple days. The New York Daily News report indicated that the injury isn’t serious. This being a big week, however, don’t expect to know anything for sure until game day.
