Broncos Vs. Patriots 2012: Predictions Say New England

The New England Patriots will host the Denver Broncos on Saturday night and they're heavy favorites to win and advance to the AFC Championship game. The Patriots have an eight-game winning streak but Tim Tebow and the Broncos were able to somehow, someway beat the Steelers last week. The odds say the Patriots will win but we know this game won't go as we expect.

SB Nation’s Patriots blog, Pats Pulpit, predicts a Patriots victory and tells us why the Patriots will win this game and why they’ll lose.

Why The Patriots Will Win: The Patriots are the hottest team in football (eight game win streak) and a team that is hungry for a playoff victory (they haven't won since 2007). Tom Brady seems to be a man on a mission, but if he can't pull off a playoff victory against the Denver Broncos, there will be serious questions to answer. Overall, I like the Patriots "bend but don't break" mentality when it comes to stopping the big plays of the Broncos' offense. As for their own offensive attack, the Broncos could find it hard to keep up with the #3 scoring offense in the league.

Why The Patriots Will Lose: Slow starts. The Patriots have been outscored 16-7, 17-0, and 21-0 to start their past three games. Of course, they ended up winning those three games. But this is the playoffs. If the Patriots fall into a similar hole to the Broncos, I could see Denver holding them off.
